The Wind Whispers

The autumn wind whispers truth!
Tune in your ear and hear!
Hear the wind whisper love.
Hear with your loving ear.

Sometimes the autumn wind howls.
It shouts Truth to the resistant.
It insists that you tune in and hear –
Hear the wind; it is persistent!

And like the wind, we whisper
The Truth we know is true,
And hope the hearers believe
Our words – and take the clue.

We don’t resort to shouting.
It turns hearers off, for sure.
Just keep persisting, like the wind –
With gentle words – and pure.

Like the wind, blow steadily
Upon the troubled ear,
And pray that they receive
The messages so dear.

For troubles need a voice
And a hearer who receives
The message of disturbance,
And readily perceives.

What troubles blow today
Upon your listening ear?
Are they from within, or
From someone who’s near?

Whate’re their source,
Let the Truth be known.
And with steady breeze,
Let Love’s Truth be shown.

Love One Another!
Let the autumn breeze calm you –
Then blow that love to others.

God bless you!
See ya later.

P.S. Here’s an “oldie but goodie”
from the ’70s
that’s a favorite love song of mine:

Be at Peace

Seek the stillness
Seek the tranquility
See the peace within
The calm in you and me

Imagine a peaceful lake
Breathe contentment into your life
Relax and be a gentle presence
Turn away all stress and strife

Philippians 4:6

“Do not be anxious about anything,
but in all situations,
by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God.”

Do not let the wind
Disturb your tranquility
The wind moves the clouds

The clouds paint pictures
The clouds bring much needed rain
Wind whips them away

Let the wind help you
Blow away any distress
And just be at peace

Smile, my friends!

I gotcha covered in prayer.
Have a peace-filled weekend.

Bob & I are headed out
in the boat

I’ll take photos this afternoon and post ’em here.
See ya later.

Thanks for stopping by.

I am feeling the

Faerie Paths — Laughter

October 26, 2019 ~ Claudia

“When the first baby laughed for the first time,
its laugh broke into a thousand pieces,
and they all went skipping about,
and that was the beginning of fairies.”
~ J.M. Barrie

Yesterday’s big winds
Brought today’s beautiful snow;
Fairies tossed feathers!

Wind blew from the south
Yesterday’s ferocious sound
Brought today’s beauty

Look carefully, you may see the fairies at work!

I caught your cute smile –
Yes, you can laugh heartily!
Laughter’s contagious.

See ya later!

Renewing Creativity

Renew creativity

Wonderful reminder, yes,
To find perfect rest

Rest is an essential part of renewing creativity.
In “The Book of Creation,” J. Philip Newell wrote,

“The extent to which we are divorced from the complementary
rhythms of restfulness and creativity is the extent to which
we are cut off from patterns of well-being
within ourselves and our relationships.”

J Philip Newell went on to explain,

“If we fail to establish regular practices of stillness and rest, our creativity will be either exhausted or shallow. Our countenance,  instead of reflecting a vitality of fresh, creative energy that is sustained by the restorative depths of stillness, will be listless or frenetic.”

Are you sometimes feeling listless or frenetic?

J Philip Newell concludes,
“Creativity without rest,
and productivity without renewal,
leads to exhaustion of our inner resources.”

Want to renew your creativity?

  • Contemplate rhythms of nature
  • Practice repetition
  • Be playful
  • Seek beauty
  • Find rest
  • Count your blessings

Remember the Elements of Creativity

According to Christine Valters Paintner in her book, The Artist’s Rule,
“Creativity is an essential and life-giving practice that (in order to flourish) requires:

  • Spaciousness
  • Attention, and
  • Intention”

What will you do today to increase your creativity?

How will you give yourself
the spaciousness
to call attention
to your blessings, and
to your intention
to write your next blog
more creatively?

It helps me to know I’m not “blowin’ in the wind!”

Inside Lookin’ Out

Inside Lookin' Out

Today’s a good day
To be inside lookin’ out.
The wind’s a-howlin’
And the snow’s a-blowin’
But inside lookin’ out,
All’s well with the world!

It’s a good day to be
Thankin’ the Good Lord
For all the many blessin’s.
For a fire in the the fireplace,
A radiantly heated floor,
A pup on the hearth,
Food in the crockpot,
Friends close by,
A lovin’ spouse
who shovels the driveway
If I need to get out.

But, I don’t need
To go nowhere!
Nowhere but here –
Inside lookin’ out!
