Wonderful Wordless Wednesday

Yesterday I peeked out
from the downstairs back door
surprised to see the signs
of our changing seasons

Signs of autumn
Sparkled from the plant
That’s hanging over the
Newly installed dry well

Orange leaves among the green
Remind me that summer
Is drawing to a close
It’s been too short

Inside, the sunflowers
from friends, the Conklins,
and Sue Newell’s ladybug card
brighten the table

The warmth of sunshine
And the grasses in the field
Beckoned me outside
To see beyond the yard

These “weeds” have their own kind of beauty
Browns and greens mixed with gold
Certainly spell the coming of fall
Alas, stores already sell Halloween

Our view of the Madison Range
beyond the field is spectacular
The clouds are ever changing
Giving our Big Sky character

We can sit inside here
and look out in amazement every day
At God’s marvelous creation
Never tiring of our Montana wonderland
Thank You, God of All Creation
For the beauty of this earth
Help us to be good caretakers
And never take these gifts for granted.
Amen
Thank you for visiting today
Have a Fabulous Friday!
Don’t forget to go out
and marvel at your September beauty, too!
Love,
JanBeek
Seek the stillness
Seek the tranquility
See the peace within
The calm in you and me

Imagine a peaceful lake
Breathe contentment into your life
Relax and be a gentle presence
Turn away all stress and strife
That is a video
Taking you down the driveway
to our home behind the trees

Do not let the wind
Disturb your tranquility
The wind moves the clouds
The clouds paint pictures
The clouds bring much needed rain
Wind whips them away
Let the wind help you
Blow away any distress
And just be at peace

When this post was first written,
Bob & I were headed out in the boat
to float the Madison River.
Since then, we have sold the boat.
A lot has changed in our lives.

I took TazE for a walk by the river.
She loved it.
Today it is snowy and blowy here…
No river walks.
But I will post a few pictures to show you
what peaceful scenes our Madison River provides!
Many thanks to Ed Coyle for his talented photography
.
Come and visit us here someday!
Be at peace, my friends.
I gotcha covered in prayer.
Have a peace-filled day.
Love,
JanBeek
What does the word GUIDANCE mean to you?
What comes to mind?

When I put the word “guidance”
in my Pexel image search,
this picture of a smart phone –
bringing the GPS image to mind –
came up on my screen.
Is that your idea of guidance?

What kind of guidance does this second image bring to mind?
Maybe allowing your surroundings,
the sun and moon, the mountains, to guide you?
Do they give you a sense of direction?
Is that what guidance means to you?

A lighthouse guides ships through the night-
Especially in a storm when it is hard to see the shore.
This kind of guidance involves a light that points the way,
gives a warning, keeps the vessel from crashing into the rocks.

I searched through many photos
before finding the light
that spelled guidance to me –
and this one sort of does it.
It’s the Light that dawns
Each morning as I look to the heavens
And ask for the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
It’s the light of God that shines in and through me.

Guidance that comes through prayer
And the study of God’s word
And time spent listening for His direction
Is the guidance I can count on.
Isaiah 30:21
21 Whether you turn to the right or to the left,
your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying,
“This is the way; walk in it.”

Where do you get your guidance?
Do you pass it along to others
Who are on the journey of life with you?
Wise guidance from fellow believers is treasured.

If you look to others for direction
And you play “Follow the Leader,”
Be sure your guides are tuned in
To the God of your Salvation!
In this Holy Week as we anticipate Easter,
Look for guidance in prayer and the scriptures;
Look for guidance in other Christ followers.
Give guidance to the lost and help them.
Help them find their way this Holy Week
To the foot of the cross where Jesus
Showed us with His death and resurrection
The true pathway to our final destination.
Let Him be your guide…
And rejoice in the path He shows you:
The LIGHTED Path to Eternal Life.
Hallelujah! May He be your Guide forever!
EMBRACE GUIDANCE
Amen!
Have a Happy Holy Week!
I send you lotsa love and hugs.

If you lived in Montana – west across the valley from the Madison Range – with two mountain ranges north and south of you filled with trails for All Terrain Vehicles, and you had an ATV, how would you spend Father’s Day?

Yup, you guessed it! We went on “Lucille” (our red-headed ATV who is a BALL) up into the Tobacco Root Range to the top of the world this afternoon.

Come and take a ride with us… way up to the snow area where snow drifts caused us to have to turn around and head back down. We’ll start up there and head down
Below that snowy area, there is a gorgeous lookout where we can view the valley below. I took a few photos from that lookout to share with you.

We saw twice as many campers in the camping areas this trip compared to any other year, and we’ve been traveling this route for nearly ten years. During this COVID-19 pandemic, word has gotten out. Montana is a great Big Sky place… with lots of fresh air, space, and unbelievable beauty.

And this “crowd” of campers is nothing compared to what you’d experience in California or Florida or other vacation destinations!

Here’s lookin’ at you!
Happy Father’s Day, my friends.
Til next time – Happy Trails to You!
See ya tomorrow.
Love, JanBeek

Let beauty fill you
Only lovely quietude
Calm reassurance

Take a walk outside
Look up into the big sky
Marvel at beauty

Appreciate home
Let its peacefulness fill you
Find a quiet space

You can find a spot
You may not have a big porch
But it’s a big world

I see God at work
Holding our world in His Hand
Helping us save it
Hold the whole world close
We have a global challenge
But God is in charge
Out of this chaos
A healthier planet grows
Creating beauty

You can find beauty
Right in the space of your home
Look in your kitchen

She sent a video of this loaf. In the video, she was cutting a slice and then tapping the crust for us to hear how crunchy it is. We had fun using “What’s App” to exchange some beautiful silliness. Then I wrote this Haiku:
Listen to the crust
Crunchy and appetizing
Crackle’s Symphony
Beauty in the kitchen …
Beauty in the dining room …
Beauty is where you make it …
Beauty is where you find it.
Let beauty fill you!

Clouds cover Big Sky
Struggling grass survives
Gray Montana Day

Cattle graze in the fields
The sun struggles to peek through
There’s blue sky ahead

Approaching our home
The blue sky tries to shine through
And sun emerges

Montana Mountain Day

Today Bob & I took our Boston Terrier, TazE,
for a ride in the Tobacco Root Mountains
from McAllister to Norris, MT and back again.
That’s “Lucille” behind us.
She’s red-headed and she’s a “Ball.”
(Are you old enough to remember Lucille Ball?)
We went with our good friends, CG & Caroline.

It was a cloudy day, but we enjoyed the clouds:

Aren’t they beautiful?
Let me take you on this journey with us…
see some of the sights that I particularly enjoyed, okay?
Come along…

Caught a little rain.
Time to head back.
But, ah, the fresh smell!
Can you get a whiff??

Thanks for visiting
and traveling
with us.

See you tomorrow
