Daughters Are Blessings

Daughters’ Haiku x4

Daughters are blessings

Direct from heaven above

Can’t live without them!

Daughters are our friends

Oh, what a blessing they are!

❤️ Love personified ❤️

Are you blessed with one?

If not, adopt one or more!

They bring me such joy.

The girls bring us love

And our son-in-law does, too.

I wish you such joy!

Why Live in Negativity?

Why Live in Negativity?

challenge

Do you know when you are being negative?
Can you identify your own negativity?
Some people can’t.
Recognition is the first step!

Then flip the script.
You can do it!

Just live in love!
Be positive, my friends.
It’s a much better way to live.
Trust me!

95 Years of Life Lessons

Today we are headed to a party at the home of my friend, Carol Orr. She is the 95 year old that I wrote about in this blog last year: via 95 Years of Life Lessons

Carol went to her heavenly home a month or so ago… and today her family and friends are gathering to remember her love and share some of her wit and wisdom. Tomorrow is her memorial service.

Click on the link to “95 Years of Life Lessons” above and enjoy Carol’s wit and wisdom with me. Such a bright, “with-it”, fun-loving, kind friend! I miss her!

Look Beyond!

Look Beyond!

Here are my sermon notes from the message
delivered by Pastor Steve Hundley
today at our Madison Valley Presbyterian Church

He titled it “The Bible Says”
and he had lots of stories about
how people use Bible verses
to prove their varying/opposing opinions

Sometimes people of God
Seem bent to disagree;
They argue and they point fingers.
Seems rather strange to me.

IMG_8556.JPG

Infighting creates doubts.
Why does it have to be?
Why do we let issues divide us?
Why can’t love define you and me?

Why is there dissension
Among the people of Christ
Why can’t we pray and obey
And treat each other nice?

There always has been fighting
Because issues raise their head
And divisions seems to reign.
Why can’t we just love instead?

We often disagree with others
Because we’re really at odd (that’s poetic license)
With ourselves – our own beliefs.
Why can’t we focus on our constant God?

God’s spirit is poured out
On the hearts of ALL folks.
Why do we create divisions
And make fun of others with jokes?

Why refuse to make the round trip
From our mind to our heart?
Our heart knows the love of God.
When will our minds know? Let’s start!

Let’s celebrate diversity –
And stop trying to point blame.
Let’s look beyond our differences;
Let’s praise and worship in God’s name.

Amen?

80 Years Young

I may have just turned 80,

But you can never tell

Unless I first admit it

Because life has treated me well

I still am full of vigor

I’m feisty, keen and healthy

I have a heart so full of love

I’m blessed and spiritually wealthy

I count my blessings every day

And live with gratitude

My family is a source of strength

My great grandkids lift my altitude

This month of July has been

A series of events so dear

I’m glad you’ve shared them with me

By visiting and celebrating with me here

The birthday party was a great success

The food and friends were amazing

One neighbor’s grandson

Kept returning to the table -grazing!

Tenderloin and chicken thighs

Wine and beer and water, too

The guests all brought potluck

Salads, appetizers, and focaccia, too!

The weather cooperated

It didn’t rain til we were in bed

It could have been a nasty day

But it was absolutely perfect instead!

Our dog had fun roaming the yard

And gathering nibbles wherever she went

The house was decorated beautifully

God bless a daughter #2 who’s Heaven-Sent!

My neighbors Janet and Charley

Were helpful beyond all measure

Add Rex & BW who helped set up & clean

They were an absolute treasure!

If you’ve hosted a party

For fifty folks or more,

You know it takes teamwork –

Yup, we had help galore!

I hope when you turn 80,

You feel as equally blessed.

Just count your blessings everyday

And start being that helpful guest!

My heart overflows!

See ya tomorrow

Hands Tell The Story

Look at the hands in this picture of my son and daughter-in-law as they watch their youngest daughter in her first dance as a new bride. The hands tell a story.

I looked at my old, wrinkled, arthritic hands as I read this lovely post- and as I walked memory lane, decided to share this thoughtfully written blog with you – via “Old” Hands Gave LIFE

Party Day

We arrived home from Tahoe

On the 23rd and then on the 24th

We picked up our Daughter #2 and went for sushi

You saw that picture of the wonderful dessert

Dave’s Sushi gifted me. Remember?

Well, today is the 26th of July

And the celebration of my 80th continues.

Yay! Gifts of wine and roses!!

I am so grateful for all the blessings!

Our Happy Hour with Laina yesterday evening

Was a continuation of the celebrating

And this morning she joined me in my sanctuary!

Yay!

It’s a great day to be alive! Gotta go down and get rid of this “bed head” – but keep the smile 😊

(Actually I won’t keep it

I will share it with you and all who enter) 🥰🤪😍

This afternoon our neighbors and other Ennis friends

Will come to round out this memorable week

And I wish each of you, my dear WP followers,

Could be here to join in the fun.

I’ll carry you in my heart and

Share the fun with you vicariously, okay?

Have a great Friday.

See ya tomorrow.

Real Birthday Day

It’s been a wonderful birthday week!

Filled with family, friends, wedding, travel…

Picked up our Daughter#2 at the Bozeman airport on the “real day”

Then we had lunch at Dave’s Sushi
(my favorite Bozeman restaurant)

– that amazing “rice cream” dessert was a gift from Dave’s –

Back home, I received calls, texts,
FedEx deliveries, wine, flowers,
and FT with loved ones.

And our dear Laina played with our pup
and chatted with our daughter who’s traveling in Europe

And our dear neighbors, Janet & Charley,
invited us to libations at their place.
What a blessing those two are!

It was a wonderful 80th birthday Day!

I hope you’re having a joy-filled day, too.

Here’s Bob & me with Laina.

Hope all’s well with you.
When is your birthday??

Your Kindness

No Action wasted

I am feeling so blessed

No act of kindness is ever wasted…

God has blessed me with
a wonderful husband for 57 1/2 years.
God has blessed me with friends
who are thoughtful, loyal, and kind.
He has blessed me with health
to enjoy all these eight decades.
No act of God’s kindness goes unnoticed!
