Family Christmas

We are very blessed
To be with family today
A Merry Christmas

Four generations
With fourteen of us in all
God bless our family

img_2658

Generation One
With sweet Generation Four
Thank God for babies

Children grow so fast
Remain babies a short time
Enjoy while you can

As a babe Christ came
Helpless and vulnerable
To live as we live

Mary and Joseph
Provided a loving home
Knowing He’s Special

Peace- John 14:27

So when did they know
The Truth of His intentions
Did God prepare them?

img_2675

I can’t imagine
Raising a loving child
For Him to die young

Some friends are hurting
On this day after Christmas
They lost a child, too

c1488d3e-4c61-40e9-bea9-64482f0033ef

Maybe their lost one
Is a sweet four-legged friend
That breaks your heart, too

On this Christmas night,
let’s reflect with my loved one from Zimbabwe
on Christmas Meaning:
God’s Plan by Taking the Human Form
– Birth of Jesus –

John 3
16 : For God loved the world so much
that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
may not die but have eternal life.

17 :
For God did not send his Son
into the world to be its judge,
but to be its savior.

11 :
“I am the good shepherd,
who is willing to die for the sheep.

It’s not about the day
as no one knows for certain when Jesus Christ was born.
It is a celebration of why He was born.

Here’s to our Salvation celebration
through the birth of Baby Jesus.
Let us make room for Him in our hearts 💕

Blessed Christmas beloved ones of God.
Shalom 🙏🏽❤️

God Bless You, dear friends.
I pray you had a wonderful, family-filled Merry Christmas!

Love,
JanBeek

Hooray for Destinations!

Love destinations
Especially arriving
Thanks for safety prayers

Stopped to deliver
Thank you gifts to our neighbors
Then we’re on our way

Leaving Montana
The bitter cold Arctic blast
Headed for our son’s

Clear roads were ahead
Beautiful scenery, too
Later came the drifts

Stopped for our breakfast
At Bella’s Coffee Shop, Wells
Enough food for three!

Fascinating skies
Entertained us on our way
Sun tried to peek out

Blue skies in Reno
Promised sunshine up ahead
What a welcomed sight!

O’er Donner Summit
Evidence earlier snow
Roads were passable

Praise God we arrived
All your faith-filled prayers answered
God hears and responds

So good to be here
Blizzard conditions at home
Warmth and love are here

Morning coffee’s hot
Family’s well and welcoming
Merry Christmas Friends!

Hooray for Destinations!

Summers here are great
When more of our family comes
Love those gatherings!

May your holidays
Be filled with love and laughter
May God bless you all

May God bless your life
With love, joy, peace, and laughter
Stay healthy, my friends

May you get to all your destinations safely.

Love and Best Wishes,
JanBeek

Reblog #15 – Relationships

This blog was posted in my “Embrace” series a year or so ago. Many of you, my faithful followers, saw it and commented. Thank you so much!

It is worth revisiting! I have several new friends since then, so I think this is a good one to reblog as we approach this Thanksgiving Day 2022. Gathering with friends and family reminds us of the blessing these friendships are to us.

My devotional this morning in These Days, Daily Devotions for Living by Faith, quoted Col.1:11-12 and reminded us, “Being in a healthy relationship is no small task.”

It went on to tell us, “It takes work, sacrifice, and understanding.” Yesterday I reblogged a post titled, “Partners” that pointed to those same requirements for lasting relationships.

I recommend that
you click on the “Best Friendship Songs” below
and listen as you read my Haiku renderings
on this subject of Relationships.

Relationships are
What this life is all about
Friends are our life’s gifts

We need each other
Going through life alone won’t work
Loneliness smothers

We’re never alone
When we’ve a relationship
With God, our Maker

Put God first in life
Let Him help you bind your love
So it never breaks

In an article in Woman’s Day Magazine, I quote:

“Whether you’re starting out a new relationship,
have been married for years,
simply love your friends,
or adore your family,
there’s always a way to
incorporate God
into each of the unique relationships
in your life.”

Choose relationships
Grounded in mutual love
With respect at center

Seek Godly friendships
Not just with your great neighbors,
But with every one

Especially when
You are choosing a life’s mate,
Be centered in God

Men, listen to this:
If she does not know your God,
She doesn’t know real love.

Don’t give up on her!
Teach her about the Savior
Save relationships

Embrace your friendships
Love one another fully
Treasure your family

I am grateful for
The love of my family
I can count on them

I pray your friends care
For you as mine do for me…
And know I love you!

You are blogging friends
Who visit JanBeek to say
“I care about you”

I am inspired by
The way I can count on you
To come, read, and write

God bless you, dear friends
Your relationship matters
It’s more than on-line

It’s alive in me
You’re a friend I depend on
I can count on you!

Have you been listening
To that collection of songs?
Lots of good words there!

Like: “Live your story”
“Know our love will never die”
“Hold on to your friends.”

Thank you for visiting JanBeek today.
You matter to me.
Thank you for being my friend.
See you tomorrow.

My niece, Jodie, with me and her best friend, Melissa…
Such treasures in my life!!

Who do you treasure as a best friend?

Reblog #8 – Be at Peace

Seek the stillness
Seek the tranquility
See the peace within
The calm in you and me

Imagine a peaceful lake
Breathe contentment into your life
Relax and be a gentle presence
Turn away all stress and strife

Don’t try to hear me –
The wind drowns out my voice.
Just enjoy the scenery!

That is a video
Taking you down the driveway
to our home behind the trees

Photo by Nick Kwan on Pexels.com

Do not let the wind
Disturb your tranquility
The wind moves the clouds

The clouds paint pictures
The clouds bring much needed rain
Wind whips them away

Let the wind help you
Blow away any distress
And just be at peace

Smile, my friends!

When this post was first written,
Bob & I were headed out in the boat
to float the Madison River.
Since then, we have sold the boat.
A lot has changed in our lives.

I took this photo on my walk earlier the day this post was first written.

I took TazE for a walk by the river.
She loved it.
Today it is snowy and blowy here…
No river walks.
But I will post a few pictures to show you
what peaceful scenes our Madison River provides!

Many thanks to Ed Coyle for his talented photography

.

Come and visit us here someday!

Be at peace, my friends.

I gotcha covered in prayer.
Have a peace-filled day.

Love,
JanBeek

Reblog #7 – Stay Positive

On January 11, 2020 I posted this blog.
I decided on this Mid-term Election Day, 2022,
it’s a good time to revisit the idea of positivity.
Here is what I wrote then:

“Today Bob & I had the privilege
of the company of two very happy, warm, genuine people.
Friends like these are part of life’s treasures.
We are so grateful for them.

This photo of Terry and me was taken a year ago at their place.
Bob with Jim a year ago

Last year we shared time with these friends at their place.
This year they are sharing time with us here in Rancho Mirage.

When you have friends who are happy and positive,
it is easy to remain cheerful –
even when crazy, bizarre things
are happening in the world around you.

My Haiku on this topic:

Never give up hope.
Find happy, warm, genuine
and sincere people.

Keep your eyes open
And your mind constantly keen.
Joy and kindness reign!

Let joy come to you
In the form of caring friends.
Let them fill your heart!

Today I will be quiet on WordPress.
It is my day to be present with my friends who are visiting..
I hope you have a beautiful …day.

I pray that you have happy,
warm, genuine friends
to share your day with you.
God bless you!

See you tomorrow.

Love,
JanBeek

Reblog #1 – Most Beautiful Things

Beautiful Things
Are sometimes visible things;
Most = Invisible!

This Persian’s pretty;
Her purr’s the absolute best –
And the love she gives.

These roses are grand,
But their fragrance is the best;
And their “giver” too!

This bird is gorgeous,
But its song is the greatest –
And its Creator!

This scene’s amazing;
But the peaceful feelings here
Are magnificent.

Adorable child –
She’s so beautiful to see,
Her trusting heart’s best!

The cake’s impressive,
But memories are more grand.
Beautiful moments!

(By the way that’s us: Bob & Jan… 57 3/4 years ago)

The moments, feelings,
The sweet smiles and the laughter –
That’s where beauty lives.

Life’s luxuriant
When people and places reign.
Beautiful visions!

Thank you for being
A beautiful part of my life
In my WordPress World.
You add JOY by your presence.

See you later!

Remember November

Dig deep in your brain
Remember November now
It’s gratitude month

In Novembers past
Remember who you shared with
Then count your blessings

Time has changed a lot
Large gatherings here are gone
I hope they’ll return

Family is so precious!

Family: the people you choose to love

Remember the yummy spread of food?
Photo by Anna Tukhfatullina Food Photographer/Stylist on Pexels.com

Remember the days
When decorations were seen
All around the house?

Will we still create
A festive mood this season
Without the big crowd?

Don’t cry for me!
We won’t gather round this table this year
for our Thanksgiving celebration…
but we will be with dear friends –
and our son will be with family
in a lovely California destination.

My heart goes out
to family and friends
who will experience
The Empty Chair
this year.

Several of our friends
Relate to the empty chair
Missing who was there

If you’re only two
And the group is not around
Be grateful for two

Thank the Lord you have
One another and rejoice
Then join friends of choice

Have a Memorable and Blessed November!

God bless You!
Lotsa Love,
JanBeek

God Bless
My “friend of choice!”
I’m so grateful to have him here…
(That was our 60th anniversary photo!)

Welcome Awesome October!

I love October
When the leaves change their color.
Hold off the freeze, please!

Too soon icicles –
Winter comes too early here.
Hold off for awhile!

God bless the colors
That brighten our autumn days
Now, please stick around!

Happy October, my friends.
I send my love & hugs your way.

Thanks for visiting JanBeek today.
Have a lovely
October first!

A September Moment

A Haibun is prose followed by Haiku. At https://dversepoets.com/2022/09/26/haibun-monday-september-song/#comment-361572 today, we were invited to share a September moment using that poetic format. Here is mine:

Look carefully – I m in there, holding my grandson’s hand!

On September 10th my oldest grandson, Mike, was married to his sweetheart, Tania, in Switzerland. It was the most enjoyable wedding ceremony I ever have attended. Following the beautiful wedding, the 100+ guests drove to a lovely mountainside venue for appetizers, libations, and music. The music was eight alpenhorns, one of which was played by my grandson. Before the last song was played, the director announced that this number was dedicated to ME!! Mike knows how I love the Lord and how much their horns playing “Amazing Grace” would touch my heart. I wish you could have been there to hear it. What a special moment!

Wait Well

When have you waited?
Waiting well = watchful waiting.
We’re asked to do that!

Hurry up and wait:
The MOD of travel.
Relax! It is what it is.

We cannot change it.
Impatience doesn’t help it.
Waiting’s part of life.

Bob was asked to wait –
Prostate cancer diagnosed
A decade ago.

So watchful waiting
To see if the spot would grow:
Doctor’s instructions.

Don’t let it stop you!
Remember to keep living.
Remain positive.

Cryotherapy:
Therapeutic use of cold –
Froze all the prostate.

Don’t just cut it out!
Edges left can reproduce.
Freezing is the best.

Live to see your grands
Happily loving and wed.
Live while you’re living!

“Wait patiently for the Lord.
Be brave and courageous.
Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.”

Psalm 27:14

Know living in joy
Is a choice we all can make
No matter the pain.

Find yourself suffering?
Wondering how long you’ll live?
Praise every morning!

Praise every sunrise.
Pray for memorable days.
Look back “greatfully”

Avoid naysayers.
Set aside the “If Onlys” –
Live while you’re livin’ !

Mike and Tania

Mike on honeymoon
With his sweet new bride, Tania,
Enjoy Italy!

All seven of us
Enjoyed fun times together.
Livin’ the good life!

We waited so well
For our trip to Switzerland.
God sure blesses us.

God blesses you, too.
He wants you to live the good life.
So pray and wait well.

Good things come to those
Who pray and believe in Life.
Believe and “Wait Well” !

What are you waiting for?

See ya tomorrow

Love,
JanBeek
