Wish on a Dandelion

If you could wish
On a dandelion today,
What would you with for?
What would you say?

Laura Sullivan is a Grammy Award-winning musician whose music inspires me. She makes me want to wish on a dandelion.

I wish for peace
And an end to all wars.
I wish for love
And joy to be yours.

I wish for plenty
To be shared with all,
For hope and grace
To never be in shortfall.

I wish for gentleness
And patience to abound,
For music and laughter
To be found all around.

I wish for health
And for patience every day.
I wonder what you’d wish for –
What will you have to say?

Wish upon a dandelion.
Let your imagination fly.
Wish for what you want the most;
Wish for things you cannot buy.

Back in 2020
When the pandemic was raging,
Laura Sullivan wrote this
(I found it quite engaging):

I wished for an end to
That horrible virus time.
My sister died in the middle of it.
Couldn’t see her; T’was a crime!

I wished upon a dandelion
That our world would soon be well;
That once the pandemic was over
We’d get outta this COVID hell.

But, it appears to me this virus
Is sticking around like the flu.
So, let’s wish upon a dandelion
That it stays away from me and you.

Lord, be with my special friends
Who visited my blog today.
Help them remain healthy;
Keep all the bugs at bay!

Help them know that wishes
On dandelions can come true.
I wish for peace and love and joy –
Not just for me, but also for you!

What’s your wish today?

(If you don’t have a dandelion available,
remember, a star will do!!)

This is such a classic… I never get tired of hearing it!

A star or a dandelion,
Which one will it be?
Makes no difference –
Make a wish and share with me:

What will you wish for today?

Bloganuary #2 – Road Trip

“What’s a road trip I would like to take?”

Each day is a journey
As we travel life’s highway.
Sometimes it’s imaginary
And we wonder where we’d stay.

Each day is a road trip
Whether we leave our house or not.
Sometimes our imagination’s
The only road we’ve got.

But the road trip I imagine,
The one I would have done,
Is in a couple of binders:
“Maine or Bust” with lobster fun!

It may never become real –
So I search the internet
And travel vicariously –
The only trip I’ll get.

But, that’s OK, my friends,
If I never go for real,
Because each day is a journey.
The sights are the appeal!

So, off I’ll go a-shopping –
Lobster and oysters I will buy;
I’ll travel with my tastebuds
To Maine in my mind’s eye.

Where is it you’d like to go on a road trip?
Is this Bloganuary prompt one that triggered your tastebuds
?

For New Years 2022,
we traveled from home in Montana
to vacation and enjoy wine tasting fun
in Napa, California with friends.

But, as soon as Bob (my husband)
gets out of the hospital
(we traveled there yesterday),
we’ll head back home.

Sometimes our roadtrips
don’t take us
to the destination
we envisioned!

But, my mind keeps travel interesting
and I find adventure
wherever I am.
I hope you do, too.

An active mind is such a blessing!!

Pray with me today, my friends:
“Lord, help me keep all my marbles,
And remind me that happiness
is not where I am,
but who I am in YOU!”

God bless you!
Thanks for visiting JanBeek today.
See ya tomorrow (God willing).

Only Imagine

In my journal yesterday, I created a six stanza Haiku. It’s where I’m comin’ from on this day when I delivered Bob (my sweet husband of 58 years) into the hands of a surgeon. It’s a relatively straight-forward procedure… an angiogram to determine any heart issues that were not detected with the x-rays and EKGs. Bob is in good hands… and I am here in the hotel room relaxing:

What is Heaven like?
I can only imagine.
I see glimpses here.

The help of a friend
The love of dear family
Colors of sunrise

The pureness of snow
Unconditional pet love
Hidden surprises

Gorgeous scenery
Flower pedals opening
Precious solitude

Whiskers of kittens
Soft and abundant kisses
Marvelous sunset

Magnificent Son
The warmth of welcoming arms
And eternal rest

Such joy in flower petals opening – and sunflowers seeking the sun

Precious solitude… but not aloneness!
Whiskers of kittens

Thank you, God, for soft and abundant kisses.

Kisses know no age
Kisses reach into our hearts
Gratefully receive

Magnificent Son
Thank you for your sacrifice
So freely given

The warmth of welcoming hugs
Sending tight, heartbeat hugs to Bob
as he undergoes his heart procedure
My daddy’s hugs were the tightest!!

… and eternal rest –
That’s where my daddy is now.
What is heaven like?

I can only imagine!

Hugging blankets works
When hugging arms aren’t available

Just got a call from the hospital.
Bob is out of surgery.
Heart looks good.
No blockages.
No stents needed.
Thank you, God,
for hearing and answering prayer.

Thanks for visiting JanBeek
and praying with me!
You’re the best!
See ya tomorrow.

Travel With Me

Please travel with me
To some far away places
Escape for a day

Dream of the places
You can virtually go
And venture out there

Play with animals
Get up close and personal
Through someone’s lenses

But beware the heights
The danger that lurks above
The eye of the storm!

I prefer my feet
To securely stand on ground
Imagination!

Stones of the Madagascar Ocean

You collect the rocks
You dive to the sea’s bottom
I’ll enjoy your find!

Thanks for visiting
And venturing out with me
Have a lovely day!

TazE thanks you, too.

Come again tomorrow.
Let’s see where we feel like going then.
Love, JanBeek
