Let’s Play!

Life is made for play
Invite your friends to join you
Will your pals come out?

Hey you! Come out!!

Owen sees his playmate
He invites him to come out
What a character!

Do you cherish laughs?
Need more of them in your house?
I recommend pups!

They bring you good cheer
Joviality for sure
Come on friends, let’s play!

Love, joy, cheerfulness
All of these things can be yours
All you need’s a dog!!

Of course I’m partial
To black and white pug-nosed dogs
But all dogs will do

They all will cuddle
Chase their tails and make you laugh
Let your chuckles out

Let’s Play!

Do you have a furry, four-legged friend
who brings love and laughter
into your home?

Love ya,
JanBeek

The Best Gift

Daily writing prompt
Share one of the best gifts you’ve ever received.

The best gift of all
Jesus gave to us one day
With His sacrifice

It’s eternal life
Promised by His life and death
Free for those who thirst

“Therefore I tell you,
whatever you ask for in prayer,
believe that you have received it,
and it will be yours.”

Mark 11:24

2 Corinthians 9:15

“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!”

Gifts come wrapped with bows
Must be untied and unwrapped
You’re the receiver

Even God’s own Son
Won’t come and break in your door
You must open it

Revelation 3:20

American Standard Version
Behold, I stand at the door and knock:
if any man hear my voice and open the door,
I will come in to him,
and will sup with him,
and he with me.

Accept your best gift
Untie the bow; Open door
Accept faith with joy

Return the favor
By the joy you radiate
Your gift back to Him!

God Bless You!

Love,
JanBeek

Just “Bee”

It’s okay to “Bee”
Just “bee” without any fret
Just “bee” contented

Release any pain
Let go all uncertainty
Turn over the keys

Relaxing is hard
Whence comes the ability
To just simply “bee”?

Psalm 42: 5-11

5 Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.

6 My soul is downcast within me;
therefore I will remember you
from the land of the Jordan,
the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.

7 Deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me.

8 By day the LORD directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.

9 I say to God my Rock,
“Why have you forgotten me?
Why must I go about mourning,
oppressed by the enemy?”

10 My bones suffer mortal agony
as my foes taunt me,
saying to me all day long,
“Where is your God?”

11 Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.

To “Just bee” in peace
Gratefully receive God’s good
Live life without lack

Gratefully receive
The grace God is giving you
To see your blessings

“Just a little more”
Is not the way to JUST BEE
Praise God for your gifts

The real truth is
We have more than enough
To live gratefully

Take a look around
You might just be overwhelmed
When you really see

See all your blessings
We are so much better off
Than most other folks

Let Us Pray
(from In Touch devotional by Charles Stanley)

God, it is easy to focus on that is wrong in my life
rather than what is right.

I find myself overwhelmed
by all the injustice, pain, and division in the world.

Forgive me for the times I’ve chosen to feed negativity,
to spread hopelessness among my friends and family.

But I’m not alone in my grief,
You are heartbroken by these things, too.

So Lord, I pray for Your guidance in sorrow.

I want to lament all that is wrong –
without being consumed by it.

Teach me to balance grief
with the assurance of Your love.

May my heartbreak, empathy, and faith
play a role in Your healing of the world.

Amen

So, let us just “bee”
Bee friends; Reach out to others
Live life without lack

We’ve more than enough
Of God’s love and compassion
Jesus gave it all!

Like a honeybee
Let’s distribute what we have
To make life better…

for everyone!
Let it “Bee”

To just make your world
“bee” a better place today,
What can you just give?

Love,
JanBeek

Cricket

My fellow blogger
Parted with her dog today
Lived a long fourteen

I have had to part
With more than one furry friend
It’s never easy

Send condolences
To my grieving friend, Rachel
Today’s a tough one

Farewell to Cricket
But only for a short time
We’ll all meet again!

Check out Rachel’s blog here…

Cricket’s Last Weeks

rachelmankowitz

Rest in peace, Cricket.
When I get to the pearly gates,
I will expect to see my furry friends
who have gone on before me
Jumping with glee to meet me.
If not, I’ll keep moving on
Cuz I’ll know I haven’t reached
The right gate yet!!

Happy TazE

Every day we miss our pup
She was a darling Boston
Was great company

Going for trail rides
Was just not the same without
Her cheerful presence.

Can you sympathize with Rachel today?
Click on her blog and leave a note.
I know she’ll appreciate it.
That’s what our WP community does…
We reach out to support and comfort one another.
Right?

See ya tomorrow.
Thanks for visiting

Rest in Peace!!

New Adventures!

We got a new truck!
Well, it’s not really brand new,
But it’s new to us.

Nolan Kemp, salesman
Did a great job at Kendall
Sold us our pickup

We named him “Charlie”
Because he’s “Charlie Blue” blue
We like Charlie lots!

Name your vehicles?
It’s a habit we started
With our ATV

We named her Lucille
Because she is red-headed
And she is a BALL!

We took Lucille up
High into Montana’s sky
Great times with our friends

We also took friends
In our lovely Clack-a-Craft
Fishing the rivers

Notice the trailer
And the help hooking things up
Those days are over

That’s why we sold them
The boat and the trailer, too
Traded the pickup

Don’t need something big
Don’t need a diesel engine
“Charlie’s” gas one’s fine

Without the boat and
Without the big pickup, too
We’ll rely on you!

When you’re heading out
To go fishing for a day
Let Bob ride along!

“Charlie” will give us
Many more years of great fun
They’ll just be different

TazE’s not with us
Crossed over the rainbow bridge
She’s gone – but not us

We’re hangin’ in there
Looking for new adventures
“Charlie” will show us!

It is a new day
Lots of opportunities
Waiting to explore

Travel in “Charlie”
Seeking out new excitement
Got some fresh ideas?

Share!

Cheers!
Love to ya,
JanBeek

Description of Me

Today’s prompt is:
“How would you describe yourself
to someone who can’t see you?”

Who cannot see me?
Close your eyes cuz I am here
Hidden in plain sight

I know you can see
the important part of me
better than most can

It’s not my outside
that is important to see –
See my heart; see me!

2 Corinthians 4:18

“As we look not to the things that are seen
but to the things that are unseen.
For the things that are seen are transient,
but the things that are unseen are eternal.”

Listening to me
You will get a clear picture
Hidden in plain sight

How would you describe
yourself to someone afar?
Tell me. I can’t see!

Watch What You Say!

Words are impactful
They last longer than you do
Have consequences

“Be careful with your words.
Once they are said,
they can be only forgiven,
not forgotten.”

-Author Unknown

My words lamented
My friend’s weak immune system
Sorrow for her health

Didn’t realize
That I came across as smug
My immune’s better?

Pow! Ouch! Boomerang!
What you say and do
Also impacts YOU!

I have heard it said
When you point a finger out
Three come back at you

Maybe this flu bug
Who attacked me Sunday night
Was sent to teach me

You’re not perfect, Jan
Go grab some humility
Don’t knock someone else!

I didn’t mean to…
Impact is often hidden
Never meant to hurt

Four days of the flu
Is enough to wake me up
And teach me this fact:

You better…

“Words are seeds that do more than blow around.
They land in our hearts and not the ground.
Be careful what you plant and careful what you say.
You might have to eat what you planted one day.”

Lots has been written
Words used to convey meaning
Words sung to inspire

Words are impactful
They last longer than you do
Choose them carefully

Don’t let them give you a back eye!
Hah!

Thanks for visiting JanBeek
See ya again soon, I hope.

This Dim Little Light

This dim little light
Is all that I have to give,
But I’ll let it shine.

John 1:5

“His life is the light that shines through the darkness –
and the darkness can never extinguish it.”

Even if my light
Is only a flickering
I know it matters

When I realize
My light remains connected
To His Source, I shine.

I shine more brightly
Because I invite Him in:
“Fuel my battery!”

orange usb charger cable on black surface
Plug me in to YOU!!
I need Your Beloved Source!
Fuel my little light.

Little light of mine
Shine brightly into the world
Let God’s love show through

When life becomes hard
Don’t make your countenance grim
Turn your eyes toward Him

He’ll light your candle
He’ll flip the electric switch
He’ll send out His Son!

Yesterday was hard
I posted a note on-line
Asking for some help

But in the process
I named a non-responder
Asked for other names

A “bashing party”
Ensued; was not my intent
The post was removed

Yes, apologize
When you’re wrong just admit it
Shed some honest light

Shed light in the dark
Make amends the best you can
Even a dim light

This dim little light
Is all that I have to give,
But I’ll let it shine.

This little dim light
Is fueled by Love and the Truth
That’s all I can show

Lesson learned!
Thanks for visiting JanBeek
Have a Terrific Tuesday!

P.S.
Thanks for praying about my outta sight blood pressure.
It is coming down.
God is good!

Optimizer!

New word! I love it!!
You are an optimizer
Can you count the ways?

You make things perfect
You make things more effective
Increase their function

You keep places neat
And make them more beautiful
Optimize your space

How do I do that?
Make a positive impact?
Read this fine scripture:

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brothers,
whatever is true,
whatever is honorable,
whatever is just,
whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely,
whatever is commendable,
if there is any excellence,
if there is anything worthy of praise,
think about these things.

Yes, JUST DO IT!!

Today’s prompt was this:
“What things will improve with age?”
I do! And fine wine!

Do you optimize
The world that is around you?
Make it more lovely?

An Optimizer
Smiles and laughs and spreads sheer joy
You do that daily!

I thank you for visiting JanBeek today.
May I ask a favor of you?
My blood pressure was through the roof this week
and we can’t figure out why! 204/84 … “Stroke City!”

Please pray with me that we (the doctors and I)
figure out what’s causing it, OK?
We’ve optimized by blood pressure medicine…
Dear Lord, help it to “improve with age” – OK?
Amen!
