Didja Miss Me?

I’ve been off screen, resting my eyes after cataract surgery.

First the right eye – cataracts removed and new lens inserted.

Then celebrated by enjoying dinner at Sweet Chili’s
and staying the night at C’mon Inn in Bozeman.
God is good. No pain involved 👌🏽❤️

Dilated pupil made vision blurry,
but I was assured this would be short-lived.
Give it time!

Then on Thursday Dr. Swan removed the cataracts on the left eye
and replaced that lens. It’s a simple procedure.
Once you’re in the operating room,
it only takes about 15 minutes.
Amazing!!

Back home in Ennis, Montana,
snow and wind stopped,
but temperatures were below freezing.
So, it was a good time to just hunker down and relax.
Let the eyes heal –
and avoid reading, screen time,
and bright lights.
Tough assignment!

Enlarged pupil… weird!
Oh my… Wild Woman!!

That was yesterday – day # 1 after surgery.
Today the pupils look more normal, but my vision still is blurry –
and I’m s’posed to be patient as I allow healing ❤️‍🩹
And stay off screen time!

So good-bye for now.
I’m outta here!

Have you ever had this procedure done?
If so, what were your results?

I’ll catch up with your posts
on WordPress and FaceBook
when it’s safe to do so.

Meantime,
bee 🐝 well –
and
bee 🐝 happy.

God bless you!

My neighborhood deer are keeping me company.
So blessed to be living in God’s Country!

Bob says,
“Chase them away!
They’re munching on my trees!!”

Hey, they were here first!
We are invading their space.
Right?

Actually, life is pretty good.
I am counting my blessings. Are you?

Blessed to have Bob’s support and company.
Count your blessings, my friends.
I know you have lots for which to be grateful.

Love ya…

Wonderful Weekend

Enjoying Sunday
Remembering Saturday
And Fish on Friday

Sunday began
with this prayer-filled
good morning photo
from my friend Lisa
in North Carolina

After church,
Sunday continues
with our TazE
needing attention
and us
trying to
just relax!

Saturday memories
include a wonderful evening
shared with Bob
and dozens of friends
at the Madison Valley Ranchland’s
annual “Noxious Weed Dinner and Auction.”

Check out
Bonny Morningstar Guzzo
on Facebook
to see her wonderful pictures
of that highly successful event.

Friday memories
include our walk
along the Madison River
in Lion’s Club Park
where this beautiful
painted fish sculpture
greets us.

The painting on the fish inspires the Haiku poet in me.

“Father, please teach me
I want to learn how to fish
To fish like you, Dad“

Back home, the clouds keep the day cooler
as the sun plays peek-a-boo
The trees provide welcomed shade
And the birds serenade you

The breeze causes the wind chimes
To sing a lullaby
Reminding me of my sis, Sally
She’d love this place as much as I

The deer come quietly to rest
Beneath the shade of verdant trees
They promise not to nibble
But who can trust deer like these?

Time to think about a meal
Don’t know what I’d like to cook
Need to go check out the fridge
Maybe left-overs -Have a look!

Mmmm… I can see shrimp
Waiting for the coconut
Time to make the sauce

Hope all is well with you.
Thanks for sharing
my weekend memories
vicariously with me.

Now it is your turn
What are your best memories
Of this great weekend?

Sending love your way…
Hugs,
JanBeek

Best Friends

A pup and kitty
Best friends – inseparable
Love that matching pair

Simple Love

Tucked under your chin
I feel completely secure
It’s true, simple love

Watching

Watching for a friend
Positioned so demurely
Aren’t I attractive?

Fawn is Flower

Tucked in beautifully
Fawn waits patiently for Mom
Remember Flower?

Beautiful Buck

Beside the lake’s edge
A beautiful buck listens
Are you thirsty, too?

Embrace Animal Photography

Embrace animals
And those who photograph them
They’re a happy lot

I hope my animal photographs
Most of which are taken by an anonymous photographer
Made you smile the way this darling baby and her pup are smiling
They certainly cheered me!

Thanks for visiting JanBeek today.

Have a Fabulous Friday.

See ya tomorrow (God willing)!

God’s 12 Step Program

God’s Twelve Step Program
Keeps me focused every day
As I walk downstairs

IMG_6408.jpeg

My first hour each day
Spent in my sanctu-aerie
Starts my day off right

Then as I walk down
The twelve steps to the “real world,”
This is what I pray:

  1. Thank You, God, for the LOVE
  2. JOY, and
  3. PEACE that are mine.
  4. Help me with PATIENCE,
  5. KINDNESS,
  6. GOODNESS, and
  7. FAITHFULNESS (which brings blessings),
  8. GENTLENESS, and
  9. SELF-CONTROL.
  10. Help me live HUMBLY
  11. With an ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE, and
  12. A response of GENEROSITY, FORGIVENESS, OBEDIENCE and INTEGRITY.

In Jesus name, I pray. Amen!

When I get to the seventh step, this is what I see:
(the words above the front door spell “blessings”)

A metal sculpture gift from our friends, Terry & Jim

Blessings

And as I look down, I continue with steps 8 -12

stairs down

And at the “Amen” I come face to face with this:

Elke Angel

She’s one of three angels on the wall
at the bottom of the stairs
(a gift from Norbert and Elke of Germany).

Norbert was 6 years old in 1962 when Bob & I were married.
We lived in the downstairs of the Schallers’ chalet.
Bob was in the army; his base just over the hill.
We have stayed in touch with Norbert through the years.
Such a blessing!

I’ve named this precious angel “Elke,”
in honor of Elke Schaller.
She and Norbert created the three angels.
“Angel Elke” reminds me in my coming and going
to keep that 12 step program in my heart.

I walk to the kitchen and look out.
Here is a neighborhood treasure to greet me!

Deer at Raymond's

Have a blessed day, my deer!!
