Embrace Compassion

Image result for scripture about having compassion for others

Embrace Compassion
Be kind to one another
Be quick to show love

Ephesians 4:32

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. … Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ God forgave you. “

What the world needs now is love, sweet love …
and it needs to be exhibited by showing compassion to one another…
especially to those whose attitudes, beliefs,
and ways of expressing themselves
are different from our own.
Be a compassionate listener!

1 Thessalonians 5:11-14

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves. And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.”

What can people do
In a world filled with trouble?
Display compassion!

Try to understand –
Look for commonality.
Rise above the fray.

Don’t join arguments –
Don’t fuel the fires of anger.
Instead, be the frey!

Frey: the god of fertility and dispenser of rain and sunshine.
No, I’m not suggesting you can be a god…
But you can be a dispenser of sunshine, right?
You can take a deep breath, smile, and rain on the fires of hate.

You can see the beauty in others.

Each person has strife.
No one’s life is perfection,
But we’re God’s children.

As such, we are called
To bear each other’s burdens.
Embrace compassion.

This is as valid today as it was the day it was recorded in 1966…
In fact it’s even more true in today’s world.
Don’t you agree?

What the world needs now
Is more love and compassion.
Start spreading it now!

Open Your Hands

My hands are open

Open your hands
Empty them of needless 2020 stuff
Open your hands
Today’s treasures will be enough

Enough to satisfy
Your every need today
Enough to bless you
And send you on your way

Springtime in the Rockies

Open your heart
To the blessings of today
And be ready for the new ones
That will surely come your way

Sit quietly and contemplate

Open your mind
To the endless possibilities
That this new year holds
And prepare for the unexpected

Fishing near the Tetons

Open your eyes
To the wonders of God’s creation
Open your soul
To appreciate each situation

Appreciate the old
(Kevinleaguephoto)

Open your mind
To see the beauty in the old
Even the broken and decrepit
Has beauty to unfold

Open your imagination
To find the beauty of the heart
Look into the gentle eyes
And let your life be a part

Of the world of need around you
Of the hurting and the lost
Open your hands
Give love; don’t count the cost!

Don’t Miss This!!

Yesterday morning I posted a blog about music, color & life’s fascinations.
(If you haven’t seen it,
please click on that title over on the right margin
– and enjoy!)

In it, I posted a video of an artist who sees color in music.
I was fascinated by her artistry –
and posted other things that fascinate me.
My intent always is to keep myself
thinking positively –
and to help my blogging friends do likewise.

A friend of mine here in Ennis
(who did not see my blog)
was obviously thinking along the same wave lengths.
He sent me a link to this video…

Treat yourself!
You will be so inspired!!!

The focus is not on what you don’t have
It is on what you have –
and what you do with it!

Have a great rest of your day…
And maximize your blessings!

10 Ways to Bee Open to God

Listening to God
Is a daily endeavor
It takes intention
His Words are clever

God speaks through Jesus
Jesus, His Holy Son
And He speaks through the Spirit
The Holy Spirit, that’s the One!

Listening to God
Takes a willing heart
It takes a willing spirit
Here’s the way to start:

  1. Bee still
  2. Bee open
  3. Bee teachable
  4. Bee attentive
  5. Bee humble
  6. Bee submissive
  7. Bee expectant
  8. Bee responsive
  9. Bee-lieve
  10. Bee-ware… and aware!
Yes, #1 on the list is “Bee Still!”
Bee silent – listen – and JUST LOVE!

Isaiah 50:4

“The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue,

to know the word that sustains the weary.

He wakens me morning by morning,

wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed.”

Does the Lord “waken your ear” each morning to listen? Every morning my friend, Lisa, who lives across the continent from me – over on the east coast – sends me a picture of where she is and assures me that she has me in prayers. Her pictures show me a scene so different from my own.

Each One Has Their Own Way

In our different environments, each of us is listening and praying. Each of us in our own way. We are open to God’s word – and open to whatever message He has for our day. We share special prayers for one another. It is a beautiful way to start each day.

Do you have a special friend who helps you to Bee more open, teachable, and attentive?

Do you have a system for Beeing more expectant and responsive?

If so, I’d love to have you share with me ways you are open to hearing God speak to you each day.

Through His Word and through music, God speaks to me most clearly. How about you? Which of those ten “Bees” are most helpful to you when you want to tune in to God’s voice?

Have a Fabulous Friday, my friends.
Bee well!
See ya later.

Love is Levitating

Photo by Samir Jammal on Pexels.com

Love lifts me higher
Yes, love is levitating
Love lifts others, too

Let love be your name
May your words and actions lift
Be “Love in Action”

Be love mindfully
Be in a state of presence
You are a present!

God empowers you
With open heart, just connect
Feel the resilience

Love’s stabilizing
It is God’s underpinning
A sure foundation

Be a messenger
With words of love, peace, and hope
Embody God’s love

A Prayer for Grace
from Strength & Grace
by Guideposts

“Loving God,
Lead me to be a vessel
of Your healing love
in a hurting world.
Help me make a difference
here on earth
by loving people
the way that
You love them.”

Amen
Reach Out in Love

…and have a Wonderful Wednesday!
See ya later.

Ya Gotta Get Better

I’m praying for you –
Ya just gotta get better.
Can’t live without you!

With COVID-19,
Too many lives are now lost –
Many in peril.

Be patient, my friends.
Please don’t open up too soon.
Keep yourself healthy.

Losing a dear one
To this invisible beast:
Unfathomable!

Bee well!

Is there someone out there who needs our prayers?
Pass this song along to them – – –
“Soon You’ll Get Better” –
Put their name in the comments below
and I will add their name to my prayer list.

I believe in the Power of Prayer.

We all need reassuring words – especially now.
Have faith in what will be.

Lead Us By Your Grace

Lead us by Your Grace
Guide us so that we’ll be safe.

Yes, Lord! We need your guidance
Now more than ever.

Enjoy this beautiful rendition of
THE PRAYER.
Let it touch your heart as it did mine.

Hebrews 4:16

“Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness,
so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Where is our go-to hearth?
We may all tilt toward the screen.
Is it a bright light?

Does it reflect grace
When we addictively turn
To the media?

Social media
Can be a wonderful tool,
For we have choices.

Grace is never far;
It can be undetected
If we choose poorly.

Grace is on our screens
If we know where we should look.
See posts who tag “GRACE.”

I know grace is mine.
I feel it daily with thanks.
I share it with you.

Grace is comforting.
It’s an expression of care.
It gently lifts us.

Grace is God’s great gift.
It is delivered freely.
Accept it with love.

In these days of Pandemic Pandemonium,
Don’t succumb to the chaos!
Know that God hears and He is with you.
Find comfort in His Grace.
We will emerge a stronger, more loving world.

Where have you seen God’s grace
at work in your community,
in your home,
in your heart
this week?

Tell me about it.

See ya tomorrow…
– meantime, I’m holding grace lovingly,
and letting it seep through my fingers to you!

Smile!
We will get through this together.
