Happiness Personified

What is “Happiness Personified?”

It is the joy of having breakfast
with your granddaughter and her family!
Look at these darling great-grandchildren:

Sienna is 5 months old and she in in 8-12 month sizes!!
Aren’t those the most kissable cheeks you’ve ever seen?

This is the happy big brother, my great-grandson, Xander.
His favorite trick today was pulling his sister’s socks off!

Drew & Hope

The busy parents, Drew & Hope,
have their hands full!
I was happy to be able to spend time with them.

Hope shared some of her photos from two days ago,
our Halloween here in the USA.
She dressed the kids up,
but the snow and lousy road conditions
kept them from Trick-or-Treating.
It’ll be something Xander
can look forward to next year.

Xander the pirate is at his Grandma Pam’s.
Don’t know which he liked best, Pirate or Frog costume…
Which one would you choose?
Sienna makes a cute little cuddly lamb, don’t you think?

I had fun
talking with Xander
about his little sister.

The Lakota School (St. Joseph’s) sent me small gloves –
just right for Xander – and a dream catcher with
Hope’s name on it. It made a perfect gift.
Couldn’t play “Patty Cake” with Xander while holding Sienna,
but he clapped anyway.

Yes, “Happiness Personified” is time with my Great-Grandkids.
We have a date to meet here again in a couple of weeks.
Good plan, don’t you agree?

Don’t grow too fast, little ones!

Here’s Sienna with me
last July at my 80th b’day party.

See ya later, my friends.
What’s your idea of “Happiness Personified?”

Sweet, Generous Families Rock!

We are proud to be a part of the Beekman family. The “Beekstock” family featured here is a part of our Beekman family who reach out into the community to help where a need is seen.

Today, in the central valley of California, Bob’s nephew, Matt, and his family were featured in the news. Thank you, Matt, Sarah, Aidan (not shown), Fiona and Declan. You are the best!

So on this “Day of the Dead” called Halloween in the USA, instead of being a part of the “Grateful Dead,” be a part of the GRATEFUL LIVING by finding a way to GIVE generously to those in need in YOUR community.

Tell me about your endeavors.

Seeds of Love

It’s a snowy, blowy, ccccold day
here in south-western Montana.
An easy day to
feel blue,
trapped,
captive.
But, there is a remedy!

Are you feeling blue?
Take time to plant seeds of love.
You’ll be the blossom.

This may not look much like “Seeds of Love,” but if you were not feeling well, your husband is just home after being hospitalized for a week or so after surgery, and I called to say I was bringing you dinner, you might feel the love. Wouldn’t you?

I sprinkled it with “seeds of love” (I used celery seeds) and off I went.

I feel warmer already!
There’s no better way to
cheer yourself up
than to reach out with love
to cheer up someone else.

Who needs your “Seeds of Love” today?

See ya tomorrow.

A Great Smoothie

We purchased some pears at CostCo this week. If you have ever shopped CostCo, you know there’s no such thing as buying a “little bit” of anything. So, when we had a pear for breakfast this morning and realized they are perfectly ripe, ready to eat now, I wondered, “What am I going to do with all these pears?”

I have six more…

Then I began reading the CostCo magazine that came in this week’s mail.

In the Farm to Table section, there was a perfect answer to my dilemma – Pear and Pumpkin Protein Smoothie. Take a look:

By coincidence,
I just happen to have
all the ingredients on hand.
Oh happy day!!

  • pear
  • pumpkin puree’
  • plain Greek yogurt
  • milk
  • honey
  • vanilla (no protein powder today)
  • pumpkin pie spices
  • ice

Add a little tequila and enjoy!

See ya later!

Devastating Snow

How can something so beautiful be devastating?

BURIED CROPS

Near Wolford, North Dakota: “The impact has been great. Wheat, corn, and soybeans are still out in the field. The wheat and soybeans are buried in some places. We haven’t been able to chop our corn because of the wet fall, therefore making it impossible to bring cattle home before the storm. They need to go in the field that the corn is in. We have been forced to feed cows out in the pasture the last two days which is going to deplete an already short hay supply. We lost all our oats hay due to the constant rain and the snow we had last week. The picture above is covered soybeans.

Forced to feed cows an already short hay supply

Our farmers and ranchers need our love and support. The impact of the storm across western and central North Dakota is dire. Farmers and ranchers across the area were especially impacted.

Buried soy beans

What do you think we can do to help our farmers and ranchers?

They can’t harvest crops buried in snow!

One FaceBook reader who saw these pictures wrote a comment that reflects what most of us are feeling:
Holly Anderson “This is so sad. It affects so many of these hard working people’s livelihood. It also will potentially affect the costs for consumers as well. The moisture is needed but never is wanted in this quantity and this early. I am so sad for all of these farm families.”

Yes, mass destruction of crops
WILL show increased prices for the consumer.
How can it not?

Loving each other
Means farmers and ranchers, too.
What form will love take?

For the Love of Raptors

Loving each other
Includes the birds of the air.
We love our raptors.

Bridger Bowl – east of Bozeman, MT

The Bridger Raptors
Are celebrated each year
At this Festival.

The birds displayed here are in captivity
because they’ve been damaged somehow
and would not be able to survive
in the wild on their own.

Wonderful surprise –
Look at who I encountered:
Our ATV Buds!!

Don, Barb, Caroline & Chuck

What a great surprise!
They were right there on the deck
Enjoying birds, too.

I decided to
Have a bit of fun with Bob.
Here’s my new boyfriend!

Don & Jan … Good buddies!

I showed this photo
To Bob, and told him “Tough Luck!
I have a new friend!”

Jan & Bob

Always the good sport.
He looked to find the foursome.
“Great to see you, Buds!”

Should we take the “M-Hike” up the mountain?
Uh, no… let’s let THEM do it!
Let’s go home
and drink a toast
to our beautiful raptors!
Steak, quinoa & a great wine…
Life is good!

Here’s a toast to birds…
A toast to fillet mignon…
To Scott for great wine!

Continue Learning

We came home with a book that will continue to help us learn more about our raptors. Do you have raptors in your part of the world? What’s your favorite bird? I’m fascinated by bald eagles. We actually see them in our area. What bird that fascinates you do you see in your area?

Expert Advice

If you were seeking

Expert advice, expert care,

Where would you look for it,

Where would you go?

Depends on the need –

Depends on the problem –

Depends on the availability

Of the help you seek, right?

.

If you’re asking about medicine,

a doc or pharmacist can share

what they have been trained to know,

But they might not be the best bet for food.

.
ham burger with vegetables

Who do you ask when you’re looking for a super burger?

I needed good advice today

For the best spot to go

for a veggie burger.

Surprisingly, my dental hygenist

knew just the place!

Five Guys menu . I got a veggie sandwich here.

It was delicious.

You never know who might help

when you seek advice.

I didn’t know Five Guys even existed!

I’ll go back – it was fresh,

Service was good,

and the price was quite reasonable.

Just remember, it never hurts to ask.

Expert advice may be

right around the corner.

And from a most surprising source!

If it’s spritual advice

you are seeking,

Don’t overlook that handy dandy book

that may be gathering dust

in the corner of your bookshelf!

Oh no, not you!

Your favorite books never gather dust,

right? .

I start each day with this one.

Great advice contained in there!

It was a busy day today.

I went to Bozeman mid-day

for my routine dental appointment.

Accomplished a lot while in the “city.”

Now it’s time for bed.

I may ask TazE for her expert advice

on how to get a long, sound sleep!
