Embrace Clarity

Embrace clarity
Leave the fuzzy world behind
Sharpen your vision

Twenty-twenty was
Supposed to bring clarity
20//20 sight

Instead it brought blur
A virus, a pandemic
It’s not over yet

But we are not stuck
In a myopian world
Bring on clarity

Leave myopia
Move to joy and clarity
Clear up tomorrow

See yourself clearly
Find the lion inside you
Share it with your friends

Terry, Jan & Mary Grace
Still a little fuzzy!

Define your purpose
Clearly share joy with others
Spread love, peace, and faith

Jim & Bob

Open your eyes wide
To new possibilities
Shove grumbles aside

Twenty-twentyone
Has seen many improvements
Keep the ball rolling

Brilliant clarity
Can be ours if we only
See ourselves clearly

2 Corinthians 9:8

“God is able to bless you abundantly
so that in all things at all times,
having all that you need,
you will abound in every good work.”

Just kidding!!

Real clarity
Is coming for sure this year
Let’s all embrace it!

Peace, My Friends
See ya tomorrow (God willing)
Love,

Embrace Thoughtfulness

Embrace Thoughtfulness

It’s Thoughtful Thursday
A day to step back – reflect
What does today hold?

I won’t jump right in
I’ll stand at the water’s edge
Dip my toe in it

Think about the day
Ponder possibilities
Hear my soul speaking

Embrace Thoughtfulness
Listen to thoughts as water
Falls with purity

Pile rocks as you pray
Putting important things first
Each rock is a task

Choose them carefully
Tasks are opportunities
Order thoughtfully

Let your thoughts reflect
Then allow them to emerge
As a daily plan

Pause, pray and listen
Plan, and then jump in with faith
Embrace Thoughtfulness.

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatever is true,
whatever is honorable,
whatever is right,
whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely,
whatever is of good repute,
if there is any excellence
and if anything worthy of praise,
dwell on these things.

Have a calm, thoughtful, and a purposeful Thursday.

See ya tomorrow.

What a Week!

Problems
Creep in
Usually they’re unbidden
Happened all week long
Blame

Gifted
With Love
From my Lord
I did move forward
Strength

Possibilities
Are fueled
By firm beliefs
Making hard things easier
Faith

One step at a time
Life is easier with faith
Just follow the Light!

This last one’s a Haiku, but the preceding series of three poems (written in the German-inspired style of Elfchen or Elevenie) shares a total of eleven words in each poem, with a sequence by line of one, two, three, four, and one words.

I hope you had a good week.
Enjoy your weekend.
Thanks for visiting JanBeek.
See ya tomorrow.

BYE!!
BEEEEE Well.

NoRmAl?

Who wants to be
NoRmAl??
Not me!!

I want to walk down
A new and different path –
A better way –
A more compassionate road –
An avenue that’s better for our planet
and for us.

Kevin League Photography

I want the whole world
to enjoy what I do:
the blue skies
and the clean water,
the promises of
a brighter tomorrow,
and a sure hope for
the future of our planet.

Let’s let the sun set
On this troublesome time,
And let’s help our world
Usher in a wiser, more loving,
Beautiful, sustainable tomorrow.

There never has been a time
when more possibilities,
when more opportunities
were so obviously apparent.
We don’t want to go back to what was.
We WANT a “new normal.”
Let’s take advantage of this time …

Pray for solutions.
Be positive.
Let’s all do our part.

What’s your plan
for what to do differently
once we are able
to emerge
from this
COVID-19 challenge?

Let’s share our ideas!

See ya later!

Problems Are Opportunities

We are in a bit of a mess right now
But we will as a world of people
Get through this problem of COVID-19
If we focus on the possibilities.

We have to see the problem, though.
We can’t ignore it and decide
This is just a bunch of media hype.
Opportunities for containing it are coming.

The people who are working on a cure
Have to view the problem clearly.
They won’t create a vaccine or treatment
If they are convinced it’s only a hoax.

This major, world-wide problem is
An opportunity for people to see
A new and better world where people
Come together to create positive change.

Factories shut down and air quality improves.
Tourists are convinced to stay home, and
The waters in the canals of Venice are
Beginning to exhibit less pollution.

Schools are closed and parents are at home,
Schooling their children the best they can,
And hopefully spending quality time together.
Shut off the TV; limit screen time; TALK!

This problem IS providing us with opportunities.
Which ones are you taking advantage of?
Which closet got cleaned? What book did you read?
What distant friend did you call to reconnect?

Problems provide possibilities for creativity.
Use yours to make this corner of your world
A little brighter for your family and neighbors.
Remain positive. Spread hope. God bless you!

See ya tomorrow.
Sleep tight!

Hugs, JanBeek

What If?

Ever thought “What if?”

IFs

No, there are no IFs!
Among believers of God:
Possibilities!

Impossible says,
“I’m Possible,” in Jesus.
He is my Sure Rock.

Rockie is my name.
My sure foundation is Christ.
MY hope is in Him.

When you believe, too,
Your life also is secure.
Yes, there are no IFs!
