Let Love In

Family sends love out and…
… we hug love in. We follow along for a lifetime!

See that cute little boy up there with his loving mom & dad? Well, look at him now!

That’s Liam, our grand-nephew, who just graduated from high school.
We are overjoyed that we were able to travel to Pittsburgh, PA to help Liam celebrate.
While there, we got to attend a couple of Liam’s hockey matches.

My niece, Jodie (Liam’s mom) and her hubby, Bill, have a gorgeous 1790’s BarN. They held a graduation party for Liam there. About 200 attended!!

Uncle Bob & I are mighty proud of this successful young man!

While in PA we also got to visit the National Aviary. What a beautiful, elegant collection of birds!

Meantime back at home, our pup, Kenny, enjoyed playmates and our son, Ty in CA, counted down days til retirement.

Kenny’s happy we’re home!
Ty’s ready for the next chapter in his life.
I pray that Ty & his wife, Monika, can find a way to go visit his sister in Switzerland. DeAna would love it!
Hey, Bro, come visit us! Put it on your 2026 calendar!

Let Love In!!!

Hugs await you wherever you go!

I hope your June started out as beautifully as ours!

Enjoy!

Let Love In!

Hugs,

JanBeek

Thank you, Jodie & Bill, for your love and generosity.

Angels All Around

Do you have any collections?

Angels all around

Remind me of my mother

It’s her collection

My maiden name: DeAngeles

It means “of angels!”

Thank God for His angels in my life!
Never alone!
Nice to know, isn’t it?
This angel was a gift in 2013… thank you, Angel Sue!

I begin each day up in this place with Guideposts’ Mornings with Jesus. Been doing that for 20 years. What a gift this space is!

My sanctuary is filled with angels!

It’s a perfect place to begin each day. Jesus is there. The Holy Spirit speaks to me. The collection of angels and crosses remind me of Christ’s sacrifice … His gift of grace to us all. What a blessing that space and those angels are! Come visit us. We’d love to share the peace with you.

Have a lovely, peace-filled, angelic day!

Love, JanBeek

Positive Impact

Share a story about someone who had a positive impact on your life.

Kenny came and filled all the empty places in our home and hearts! Dogs do that!
Neighbors/friends step up and fill our lives with love
Bonus daughters reach out and help make each day brighter
Sweet daughter, De, makes each day happier
Terrific Ty, super son, positively impacts us and countless others
Our pastor and our God keep us grounded in love
These and countless others are daily gifts that impact my life. How can I choose just one?
Like the flowers in my garden, each loved one impacts my life daily by adding beauty and support.

Who or what impacts your life … or has left a permanent impression? I know you also feel blessed. Life is a gift… and so are you!

God bless you!

Love, JanBeek

Greatest Gift

What is the greatest gift someone could give you?

Love

Love, joy, peace… the greatest of these is love.

Show love in your food preparation & presentation. Yummy dessert at The Fish Wife in Pacific Grove, CA last night.

The Red House Restaurant in Pacific Grove showed love this morning!

Bob shows his love to me every day. What a gift!

My friend, Lisa, gives the gift of love as she allows us to travel vicariously with her.

Bob’s older brother, Bill, gave the gift of love as he picked the oranges and squeezed fresh orange juice for our breakfast yesterday.

Our bonus daughter, Laina, gives the gift of love with daily communication.

Thank God for the Internet! It allows us to share love with one another daily across the world!

And the greatest gift of all is God’s love ❤️

Happy, peace-filled, love-filled New Year to you all. God Bless You🥰

Love,

JanBeek

Happy Dec. Birthday

December birthdays shared with Christmas and New Years celebrations often are slighted, but not Bob’s!

Bob was treated royally by Brother Bruce, his wife, Ann, and their son, Nephew Matt & his wife, Sarah.
He may not look delighted here, but he was!

We started our day with the former pastor of this church in Ceres, Brent Mitchell. Sooo good to see him. Then we attended service and saw old friends at Harvest Presbyterian in Ceres, CA. Pastor Jim Stochl gave a delightful sermon.

Then we met friends at a Mexican restaurant for lunch. So good to see Isy & Dick again. And the wait staff sang to Bob & gave him an ice cream treat. Happy 86th, Bobby Bee!!
And a Happy New Year to you all. God bless you!

Love, JanBeek

Sending C’mas Love

How are you creative?

God

Unique and creative

You are creative too

Blessings

And a creative, blessed, Christmas to you & your loved ones, too!

Dec. 14 -Word of the Day

Using the prompts from @sanctifiedart,
I am enjoying the opportunity to share
the “Words for the Beginning”
each day with you during this Advent season.

Today’s Word is:
GOODNESS
When I put the prompt in AI, it generated
an assortment of blond, blue-eyed,
smiling 20-year-old females.
I kept asking AI to try again until finally it
generated something different.
I got this!

Goodness me!
That’s not what the word conjures up in my mind.
When I think of goodness, I think of the innocence
of babies and young children
and the unconditional love of our furry friends
(maybe that’s what that AI image is depicting).

These are the images that come to my mind
when I think of the word GOODNESS.

I also think of the goodness of a meal lovingly prepared
and shared generously with friends.

I asked Bob what image comes to mind
when he hears the word GOODNESS.
His answer surprised me. He said,
“Mothers… and the loving environment a good mother creates.
THAT’S GOODNESS!”

The goodness a good mother exudes
is certainly multiplied when she has
the support of her children’s father, too.
Loving families RADIATE goodness!

What does the Bible say about goodness?

There is more about the root word, GOOD,
than there is about GOODNESS.

So, goodness is a God-like quality in people.
It is a purity and innocence in children and animals.
It is a gift of delectable taste from a skilled chef.
It is a unifying force in a family.

You don’t have to be a 20-something, blue-eyed blond
to exhibit goodness!!
You are in the land of the living…
and goodness is in you
and all around you.
All you have to do is open your heart to it
and exhibit the goodness that is in you!

Aren’t you grateful for that?

What image does the word GOODNESS bring to your mind?

Join me again tomorrow for another
Word of the Day.

Love ya,
JanBeek

P.S. My maiden name is DeAngeles.
It means “Of Angels.”
Do you see the angelic goodness in me?

Time with Family

Hello, my WP Friends!
How are you this lovely December weekend?
I hope your Thanksgiving was everything you dreamed of…
and your December has started off nicely.
What are you looking forward to?
We just enjoyed a 3 week trip to Switzerland
where we spent quality time with our daughter
and her family… highlighted by meeting our
Number One Swiss Great-Grandchild.
Now we are anticipating our Christmas trip
to California where we will spend quality time with
our son, our daughter-in-law, Monika, and our grandchildren.
Here is our daughter-in-law, Monika,
with our great-grandchild, Mable. Aren’t they a cutie?

You can see how Grandma Monika is enjoying her granddaughter.
We expect to get in on some of that love in just a couple of weeks.
Christmas needs to be “FAMILY TIME”
Don’t you agree?

How about you?
Do you have fun plans for this holiday season?

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas season
filled with all your favorite people, events, and treats.
Be sure to celebrate “The Reason for the Season.”
Go to church. Worship the One who gives us HOPE.
Pray for peace in our war-torn world.
Attend those special events that are happening in your community.
Bob & I went last night to our local “Christmas Stroll”
and enjoyed the “Parade of Lights” in our little town.
What special events do you anticipate in your town/city?

I couldn’t get my video of last night’s little parade
to show up here… so here is one generated by AI.
It’s obviously in a larger venue that our little town.
But, you get the idea, right?
Christmas is a season of celebrations!
I hope you and your family enjoy every opportunity
that your community offers you.
And don’t forget the “Reason for the Season.”

Enjoy family time as you pass along the
REAL Christmas story to the next generation.

Love,
JanBeek

Family Time

Thanksgiving is coming here in the USA.
It’s a time to especially thank God for:

Your children and their father,
Your dear husband
who puts up with you every day
(or for you dads out there:
Thank God for the mother of your children
who puts up with you every day)
Are you fortunate to have a spouse and kids?

Thank God for your in-laws:
For your son-in-law
and your daughter-in-law,
And for their parents.
Are you fortunate enough to have
a good relationship with you in-law’s parents?

We are blessed to have this
sweet, nutty, fun-loving daughter
in Switzerland. As we approach
Thanksgiving, we especially are
thankful that we had the strength
and the stamina to visit her this month!

If you have a child who
married someone from another country,
I hope you know the joy of being able
to travel to see him/her.

God is so good to bless us
with the ability to go to Switzerland.
We now are planning our Christmas trip
to spend time with our son, Ty, and
his family in California.
Thank you, dear Lord, for the
resources and the strength and the help
with choosing our flights
and being able to have that
Family Time.

C’mas 2020

That CA family has grown by two more
great-grandchildren since that photo.
It includes Bob & me with our son & his wife,
her parents, 3 of our grandchildren,
and one great-granddaughter, Cosette.
Family Time is so precious!

I pray that your holidays coming up
find you surrounded by loving family
and friends who are like “chosen family.”
God bless you!

Love,
JanBeek

Memorable Road Trip

Think back on your most memorable road trip.

I don’t have to think back

My most memorable road trip was in January this year 2024 … but now in Nov. 2024 is hard to beat!

Back in January, our son and daughter-in-law

loaned us their car for this trip.

We were so happy to be in

sunny California instead of home

In Montana right then … and the same is true now! We are happy to be in Switzerland on this Election Day ‘24 in the USA. It is so contentious there!

Back in January:

It was -23 and felt even colder with the windchill factor back home today. We were in Paso Robles, CA then with the sunny skies that were perfect for enjoyable wine tasting opportunities. The same is true now. Time with friends is what made that and this road trip so memorable, so special, so much fun!!

Our son-in-law, André, is a wine connoisseur!

Wish you could have joined us!

Sculpterra Winery

was filled with amazing sculptures.

You would have oogled and ogled

just as I did!!

Bruce, our wine guide,

poured some delicious tastings for us.

This was one of my favorites.

As a retired beekeeper,

Bob was especially interested

in their display of honeybee products.

Meantime, back in Montana,

the cold spell continues …

and we’re grateful our road trip

doesn’t involve driving there right now.

If you’re in the pattern

of this Arctic storm

with its sun-zero temps,

Escape now!!

Come join us!

We didn’t mind the 80’s plus folks…

And we’re loving the 70’s weather here in Switzerland 🇨🇭

We’re young at heart!!

Love,

JanBeek
