There are so many ways to stretch
And so many meanings to the word
Stretch your body and your mind
Stretch and let your soul be heard
Flexibility of mind and body
Are a result of regular stretching
Reaching just beyond your limits
Helps you find the goal you’re fetching
No one needs to feel they’re stuck
At a level that’s not satisfying
Keep stretching, reaching, believing
And you’ll get to where you’re trying
Our minds are powerful tools
They take us where we want to go
Stretch your vistas with good books
Let them round out what you know
It’s not just body and mind that stretch
When you apply the “Elastic Principle,”
Look for life’s other areas
Where you want to be invincible!

Stretching our ideas to help us be
More flexible in odd situations
Helps us be more successful
In all sorts of challenges or vocations

My mind stretched immensely when
I traveled to Europe as a newlywed
I thought the USA was the world’s haven
And I found multiple havens instead!
Don’t squirrel away in a tiny space
Limiting your mind to prejudicial thoughts
Stretch your experiences and horizons
By seeking out new, delightful spots
Stretch your imagination in order to see
Sites that inspire you to face with glee
Each new day and its many wonders
They’re right here – and they’re free!

Stretch your imagination to create
Space in your life to wander afar
Walk along paths of flowers blooming
And stand beneath your favorite star
Embrace stretching and soon you’ll see
The world through eyes expectantly
Looking at the mundane differently
Participating in life gleefully
Embrace Stretching!

I love your pictures AND your message!
Thank you. I love seeing your comment and knowing you visited today. Bless you! <3
I should stretch regularly! It’s a matter of making it part of your daily routine. Now how do I go about starting it and sticking to it?!
Your dad says, “First you have to set aside a time and a place for it. You can’t stretch on a cold floor… you just won’t do it! So, find the right spot and time and set your mind to it.” You can do it if you make it “sacred time” that you can’t trade at a whim. Once you break your routine, it’s hard to get back to it. <3 (It's like my sanctuary time) <3
I need to bring my yoga mat up here. The floor is cold indeed! I’m sure it would help to be stretch for ten minutes every morning. Do you do it?
My mat is up in my sanctuary. Do I use it evry day? No. Should I? Yes. Will I? We’ll see. Wanting to is the first step! <3
I love your message Jan, and the food looks great!❤️
Thanks, Susan. God bless you. We sure miss getting together with you and Curtis more often. Gotta fix that! You’re creative, engaging and fun. Bob says, “I feel shorted when we don’t get together more often!” <3 Love ya! <3
Thank you Jan. We have so much fun when we get together with you and Bob. A Cajun dinner will happen soon at our house. Love you both! ❤️
Mmmm… any time. <3
I love those animal pictures, Jan! That bear made me laugh out loud. Animals instinctively know the benefits and joy of stretching. My dogs do yoga poses regularly. 😀
I’m going to be a possibilitarian too!
Welcome, {{{Lesley}}}, to the Possibilitarian Club! <3 Have a weekend filled with exciting possibilities! Latch on to a few!! <3
Nice. Never thought before that stretching could be so meaningful in so many ways.
Thank you for your comment and your visit to JanBeek. I had not looked at “Stretching” from so many angles before either. I was inspired by the Feb. 26th word of the day in the January/February Daily Word by Unity. “Stretch” was the word and in the article yesterday they said, “Challenging myself to stretch and try new things helps me expand my skills and perspectives.” That inspired me to stretch the application of the word to more than physical and spiritual, but to food and vistas as well. It was a fun “exercise.” <3 Have a weekend of stretches! <3
A sound post. I stick with the mind these days – unless a photograph requires some physical stretching 🙂
I’ve seen you in some of those stretched poses as Jackie takes a picture of you taking a photo! <3
