Embrace Your Uniqueness

What makes you unique?
Your fingerprint and your eyes,
Your hair and your smile.

Your conversation,
And your own brand of whimsy.
Do you embrace these?

Bob Goff wrote today,
“God made you this way
On purpose, freckles and all.”

He had lots of spots –
As a kid, lots of freckles.
He was teased a lot.

His grandma told him
“Those spots are angel kisses.”
So be proud of them!

“Don’t tell anyone,”
She cautioned him not to share –
“Friends would be jealous!”

That very mean boy
Who teased Bob, calling him Spot,
Wilted his soft heart.

With grandma’s advice
His insecurities left,
Finding acceptance.

Accept uniqueness!
Embrace how you’re different.
Congratulations!

Love,
JanBeek

P.S. Bob Goff puts this message at the end of each of his books:

You can also follow him on Instagram and X: @bobgoff.

Now how unique is that??

  1. He does indeed sound like a very unique person. You should call him and let him know how his words touch your heart. You never know….he just might be needing to hear from you today! I always love hearing from you, dear little momma 😙💗

  2. Delightful. Redcliffe garden centre café near us has mostly well-known quotations reproduced on the rafters. My favourite is “A face without freckles is like a garden without flowers” by my grandad.

  3. Personal is a trait of unique,
it doesn’t mean to be a freak.
If purple hair is what you seek
And charge up against the meek.
Then you fail to give God his speak
And soon this world you’ll be in the ground encased in teak

  4. Wonderful Jan, thank you for sharing such a lovely poem… Indeed we are all of us unique, and it sounds like Bob too is a very special person..
Sending you lots of love Jan… Have a wonderful week xx 💖🙏
