How do you unwind after a demanding day?
My home is my unwinding place
It’s a restful, peaceful haven
I can stay in my pj’s til noon
and my hubby can lounge unshaven
But if I lived near the sea,
I’d find a lighthouse nearby
I’d climb the stairs and vegetate
And watch the ships sail by
There’s something calming, something sweet
About the crashing waves against the shore
This scene soothes away all distress
Makes me long to go once more.
How sweet to know I can imagine
A lighthouse from my Montana home
His light shines bright and helps me unwind
I don’t have very far to roam.
The scene outside my window shines
God’s soothing light on me
A lighthouse out beyond the snow
Brings calm; God’s Grace unwinds round me.
Exodus 14:14

You already know how I unwind. I take my grandpup for a nice long walk. His smiling face, curly tail and the happy pep in his step is all I need to forget about the stress of tge workday.

I unwind by going up to my room, lighting a yummy smelling Yankee candle, and watching some of my favorite Netflix series. On my day off I can go on a nice long walk in the hills above my town.

Most positive poems and prayers, Jan. I’m happy to say I don’t really get wound up much these days – except for technology when the forest does the job.
You are blessed to stay calm most of the time and not get “wound up!” But technology can twist my tail, too!!
So beautiful Jan. My home is also my retreat, watching and listening to the Madison River flowing steadily in front of my house, snuggling with Anna Montana, and quiet time with God. 🙏
