Mother Theresa said, “Peace begins with a smile.”
I believe it.
Do you?
Shortly after we
Moved to Montana,
I joined the
Madison Valley
Writers’ Group.
Smiles helped me
Make friends.
Shared writing
Helped us
Get to know
One another better.
.
Here is a poem
I wrote back then.
It’s still pertinent
(maybe even more so)
Today… don’t
You agree?
.
A Smile
.
“If you see someone without a smile,” the old saying goes,
“Give ’em one of yours.” It’ll chase away their woes.
It won’t hurt you a bit and it don’t take no time.
Might even be returned, and won’t cost you a dime.
.
If you see someone without a smile, maybe they just need
The kind of cheer you got – to bring ’em up to speed.
You might throw in a handshake, or a “Howdy, how ya be?”
Might be their first friendly touch in a day or two or three.
.
Might be they’d like to tell you how they truly are,
‘Cuz usually when folks ask that, they don’t really car.
So, add some hospitality to the smile you send their way,
And shucks, you never know, ya might just make their day!
Oh, and by the way,
That’s my DollyWolly,
DeDeBee’s Smile.
Ain’t it great?
“Peace begins with a smile.”

Aww, what a lovely concept π
What a lovely poem! I like the regional dialect. It feels so “down homey” and friendly. I saw the smile in the words as well as in the photo. And yes, that is a beautiful smile. π
Thank you! I appreciate your comment. Come again!

Thank you so much! I appreciate the recognition – and will give thought to who Iβd like to pass it in to. Fifteen is a lot! But itβs a great way to find other good bloggers – because there is only one other of those you nominated that I am familiar with. Iβll have to go check them out! Thank you! β€οΈππ½

Peace has to grow in ourself first and then when we have that inner peace we may try to spread it by letting the smile coming on our face, letting our peaceful vibrations fill the air.
As one saying goes, “Smile and give your face a rest.” We need to smile more and frown less!
You bet! Thanks for bringing a smile to me this morning!
