You have a secret?
A way to save dying plants?
We brought them inside.

Don’t think that will work
The freezing, frosty weather
Got them ‘fore I did!

Poor Geraniums
Bit the dust with early frost.
How do you save ‘em?
I think that Derrick
Posts tantalizing flowers
Just to frustrate me!

Derrick wants me to
Feel like a total failure…
Those are HIS flowers!
And he posts
Gorgeous photographs of cows;
Maybe I should switch.
Perhaps saving cows
Is easier than flowers.
What do you think, huh?

If a cow doesn’t produce,
Is it a Milk Dud
or an Udder Failure?
My flowers are toast.
Do you have some tips for me?
How do you save ’em?
See ya tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about your flowers…I hope you can save them somehow.🙏🏼
Next year! The early frost caught us off guard.
I googled your problem and perhaps it IS a bit too late. Looks like you have to deal with them BEFORE the first frost. Sorry, momma!
Overwintering Bare-Root Geraniums
Before the first frost, carefully dig up your geraniums, and shake all the dirt off the roots.
Put them in unsealed paper bags, or hang them upside down, and store in a cool, dry place around 50° F (a garage is perfect).
Thanks, De. Yup, too late. But next year I’ll be so much smarter. This frost caught us by surprise in September!
It would take more than me to make you a failure
Hah! You’re my inspiration!!
🙂
The non-producing cow lines made me laugh out loud!!!
I got a kick out of those cow lines, too. Not my originals… but writers have to be good at borrowing when we see something worth passing on, right? It was in an e-mail from an old high school friend who is always good for a laugh!
