Share Intentionally

In her book, Mary’s Way, Peggy Tabor Millin told this story, “I was on a train on a rainy day. The train was slowing down to pull into a station. For some reason I became intent on watching the raindrops on the window. Two separate drops, pushed by the wind, merged into one for a moment and then divided again – each carrying with it a part of the other. Simply by that momentary touching, neither was what it was before. As each one went on to touch other raindrops, it shared not only itself, but what it had gleaned from the other.

I saw this metaphor many years ago and it is one of my most vivid memories. I realized then that we never touch people so lightly that we do not leave a trace. Our state of Being matters to those around us, so we need to become conscious of what we intentionally share so we learn to share with intention.”

Seeing God — friarmusings

My post today, “Do Good” focused on children … and their abuse (as I shared Pastor Kurt’s devo from Bayside). This post “Seeing God” that I hope I have forwarded to you here is a delightful look at why Jesus pointed to the children as examples of true followers. (Click on the title above to get to it)

Friar Musings described children so poignantly.
He wrote,
“kids are feisty, clever, quick, fierce,
generous, selfish, naughty, obedient,
curious, bored, quiet, loud,
challenging, funny,
surprising, solemn, and exhausting.”

Do Good

Do Good

Today the Pope’s tweet spoke to my heart:

“May God, the lover of life, grant us the courage to do good without waiting for someone else to begin, or until it is too late.”

Speaking of Doing Good:

Pastor Kurt’s Refuel message stirred my heart and moved me to share with you this morning’s devotional from him at his Bayside Church near Sacramento, CA :

Pastor Curt reminds us that they’re not invisible to God,
so they better not be invisible to God’s people!

The World Hurts

Sometimes my heart swells with the pain of the world’s hurt.
I heard the call to do good;
I listened to the challenge
related to young girls and their pitiful condition,
and now I sit here in the warm sunshine
flowing into my sanctuary wondering.
What can I do?

Do Good

Do all the good you can
To all the people you can
Whenever and wherever you can.
And don’t forget to pray.
God’s mercy far outreaches
Anything we can do.

Have a blessed Labor Day (my USA friends✌🏽)
and a Marvelous Monday eve
(my growing list of friends from India
and around the other side of the globe).

May God hold each child In the palm of His Mercy.
May He Bless them all.

The Holy Spirit’s Power

A pile of dry bones
Littered the field.
Can these bones live?
Can they once again yield
Life with vitality?

Only You, Lord,
Only You can cause it.
The bones are dry;
Only God can pause it
And bring life to reality.

Our church may be
Those dry bones now.
But God can breathe
Life in us somehow.
Dry is not finality.

God can cause these
Dry bones to revive.
He can breathe on us
And help us come alive.
Life with vitality!

We have God’s Spirit
Deep within our heart.
Can these bones live?
Yes, God can help us start.
Make Your Power, Lord, a reality…

… in us.

Amen?

Help us see Opportunities
through Your Power in us!

Do you have an area of “Dry Bones” in your life?
Seek His Power for new life in you.
Ask God’s Holy Spirit to breathe vitality into
those areas of concern.
God Bless You!
See you tomorrow.
