Did you go to church (or synagogue or temple or mosque) this morning?
Did you take time to worship God and hang out with your friends?
We did!

And, as usual,
I took my sermon notes in poetry as I listened to
Rev. Jean Johnson deliver her sermon
at Madison Valley Presbyterian Church.
The bulletin was so full of the picture on the front and print on the inside that there was little room for note-taking. So, I used the margins and wrote the main ideas vertically. Then I used those letters/words to create acrostics. Here are the words:

I went to church, the sermon was titled “Trials & Temptations” scripture was Luke 4:1-13. Our Sunday school class discussed the sermon further. We spoke of Jesus’ humanness and the temptations that Satan presented to Jesus. Jesus was weak, tired and hungry. Jesus prepared his mind and body for this encounter by meditating and spending time in prayer and contemplation with God and the Holy Spirit. A favorite passage mentioned but not part of the scripture used is Luke 3:21-22, here in these two verses we encounter God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit all together at Jesus’ baptism! Can you just imagine that…!! We all encounter Jesus where we are not where He is, He makes a way where no way exists. Praise God for all good things! ~Amen!
