Spreading love, joy, peace, faith & unity

Bloganuary #6 asks us to consider the main Source of our inspiration.
That’s a no-brainer! As a Christian, the answer has to be Jesus!

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”

With the inspiration provided by scripture, prayer, daily devotionals, and a constant walk with my Lord, I am inspired every day be seek His Will for my life. I am inspired to seek His Truth. I am inspired to share His Love. I am inspired to share the Good News!

16 For God so loved the world
that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him
shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

I pray that Jesus inspires you, too.

Now, if I have to choose someone who is on earth today… a living human who inspires me, I would not be able to narrow is down to one person! Here are a few:

  1. Derrick Knight – he inspires me to blog every day as he does, and to respond to all who leave a comment on my post (just as he does).
  2. Ty and Monika – our son and daughter-in-law – they inspire me with their big hearts and open hospitality, their love for one another, their family and neighbors, and their faithfulness. They inspire me to be more open and communicative about my faith in Christ.
  3. Marcie Fernandes – my long-time friend – she inspires me to be more forgiving, more open to seeing the good in others, less quick to be judgemental.
  4. DeAna & Andre’ – our daughter and son-in-law – in Switzerland – they inspire me to be more “in the moment.” Carpe’ Diem!

It would be fun to have those six folks together here at Ty & Monika’s in California right now, but they are spread from here to England to Tennessee to Switzerland! They all live in my heart and my prayers each day, though.

Who inspires you and why?
It’s a thoughtful question, don’t you agree?

Jesus inspires me
to rely on Him

I love this! You are a lovely woman of God and I’m so glad to read your words. I totally agree Jesus inspires me to. I’m slowly growing closer everyday. Thank you for your commitment to your blog and to others blogging out there! We’re all need words to encourage us!!

Gerry Thompson who invited me to her Salem Heights Church. After years away from God in my work and life, she opened my eyes to worshiping again! Gerry is now my neighbor at Capital Manor. She was Chif of Staf under governor Athey and.a great friend!

    • Isn’t it a blessing to have such a friend in your life – – – and then have the bonus blessing of having her move close by? How fortunate!! Thank you for sharing, Lee <3 I hope you & Loleta are well. Bob and I are at Ty & Monika's recuperating from this darn RSV. It's a slow recovery, but we're making progress. Thank God for family, their love, and their willingness to put up with us, huh?

  3. Awwwww ! I’m glad I can inspire you to live in the moment! Carpe Diem is indeed one of my favorite sayings. You inspire me to one day be a volunteer after I’ve retired from this very time consuming business I’m in. One day!

    • Yes, DeDe, once we finish our day-to-day jobs as younger folks, I do think it is rewarding to use the time you have left in life to “give back!” Volunteering in community places (like the library, hospital, nursing home and food bank) is one way to do that. Caring for your family & friends in ways your “working self” didn’t take/make/have time to do … that’s another way. They all are a way to continue to feel that you are living life with PURPOSE… responding to God’s Will for using the gifts He has given you. I think that’s important for quality survival.

  4. Jan, thanks for your frequent encouragement. You truly share the love of the Lord. Jesus will always be my number one source inspiration. I begin every day with His teachings, which guide me. Next would be my mother. She has always been there for me, even when I stumbled. She has endured so much in the past year, yet her love still finds a way through heartbreaking setbacks.

    • So happy yo have a mom still on earth to continue to inspire you – and to teach all who know her how to graciously navigate life’s setbacks. <3 God bless her!! And God bless you!! <3

  5. Jan, I just love your heart and words! Jesus is my number one inspiration! My parents inspire me, as do my sons. You, Richard (above), Kathy, Julie, Mitch, Russell, and so many other bloggers, like Derrick, inspire me to reach out with written words–and along with the heart-you’ll find like-minded souls on the same journey. It’s such a blessing!

    • Yes, it is! Thank you for reaching out with yur like-minded spirit, Karla. Have a Fabulous Friday! Today’s Bloganuary prompt asks what makes us laugh. I’ll conjure up some of those from deep inside my computer and try to renew that happy spirit (in spite of my annoying cough and required sequestering!). <3

      • You’re so welcome, Jan! I just love to laugh. And I pray the annoying cough and sequestering quickly dissipate! 💚🙏

  6. Love your post; I pray too, that you’ll recover quickly and be up and about again!

    • Thanks so much, Kathlyn. Prayers needed and appreciated! I sound much worse today… freaks my son & daughter-in-law out!

YOU definitely inspire me! I’ve enjoyed watching you grow and develop your connection with Christ over the years. You share your inspiration and love for others in Christ with this blog and in your every day actions. You are a true Christian example and I am glad to have that in my life. “A Christian is someone whose behavior and heart reflects Jesus Christ.”

    • Thank you so much for the affirmation, LainaLainaLaina! That’s a lovely link… and the nicest thing you coulda said about me. I am so grateful to have Christ in my life as my counselor and guide. Following His example is my mission!
