Stone Art

I know a lot of you love art as much as I do.
I am the president of our Ennis Arts Association.
As such, I rub elbows with a lot of talented people.
Today I met a new artist: Akie from Japan.
I LOVE her art!
Take a look:

Akie Nakata Stone Paintings Tiny Animal Sculptures

Japanese artist Akie Nakata (known simply as Akie) transforms found stones into animals you can hold in the palm of your hand. Isn’t this amazing? You thought it was a real bird at first, huh? I did, too.

Here are some more of the rock art creations:

Which of them do you like best?
Have you ever tried painting on rocks?

Today I am having a COVID-19 test. I have no symptoms,
but the test is required before I can have surgery.
I am scheduled to have a hernia repaired on Tuesday.
Should be a simple in-out procedure.

Please keep me in prayer that the robot knows what it’s doing.
I’ll keep you posted.

Hope you are having a Marvelous Monday.
Love,
JanBeek

Constant prayers that all goes well for your surgery, Ma!!!! 🙏🏼🥰🙏🏼🥰🙏🏼

  2. Praying that your surgery goes well, Jan, and that you have a speedy recovery. All the best with the test as well. 🙏
The stones are remarkable and it’s too difficult to choose a favourite, but I love how she’s done the eyes of the lion. 😀 💖

  3. Beautiful beyond compare!

  4. Jan, these are incredible and my favourite is the first one and the seal and its pup. All amazing and I’m in awe of her skill and creativity. Good luck with the op … most hospitals wisely seem to be testing before letting anyone through for procedures.

  5. I love the lion! Who knew it can be that tiny lol

And may God be with you on your surgery 🙏

  6. Lord Jesus please keep Jan safe during her stay at the hospital. Let the surgeon and all the required medical personnel be rested and ready to perform their part in this procedure. May it go easily and without any complications. Lord, I ask that You hold Jan in Your hand, just like those rocks she so sweetly blogged about. Let her have peace knowing that the maker of the universe is holding her in the palm of His hand. I ask You also for strength for her husband. It is in Jesus name I pray. Amen.
    ♡ Hugs Jan.

  7. On a separate note, I want that blue bird. Dies she sell any and if so, how much?

  8. The stone Art is amazing! I pray your testing goes well.

    • Thank you. The test was easy… just a tickle on my sinuses. Made my eyes water, but didn’t hurt. Should have results by noon today. Expect them to be negative, so surgery can go as scheduled tomorrow. Appreciate your prayers! <3 God bless you, Dawn. <3

      • Thankful to hear the test was easy. You’re welcome. Thanks for the update. God bless you too. 🤗❤️

  9. I’m in awe…
Take care. Sending prayers and peace…

  10. Jan, I appreciate you sharing these awesome examples of stone art. I especially liked the dog, but all of the artwork brings out intricate details. There is a woman in Montana who does artwork on sandstone. She goes by the title of Montana Sandstone Artist (lives in McCone County). I will be keeping you in thoughts and prayers.

I found your post at right time. I is amazing to see how a hard stone was transformed to a soft furry/ feathery creature. I feel like to touch them and cuddle them.
